The symposium will bring together leading researchers, AI scientists, postgraduate students, policymakers, industry representatives, service providers, and international experts from Africa and Europe, including members of the Fraunhofer network. The event will showcase cutting-edge research at the intersection of optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and sustainable resource utilization.
Participants will present their latest scientific results, discuss methodological advances, and explore innovative applications addressing pressing sustainability challenges in Africa and beyond. Through interdisciplinary exchange across mathematics, computer science, engineering, and sustainability research, the symposium aims to foster scientific innovation, strengthen international partnerships, and identify future directions for data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making in complex systems.
Hosted in Kigali, often referred to as the “City of a Thousand Hills” and renowned for its vibrant culture, hospitality, and innovation, the event offers an inspiring setting for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. We warmly welcome researchers, academics, practitioners, and students working in machine learning, optimization, and related fields to join this unique gathering and contribute to advancing sustainable development and societal impact across Africa and beyond.
